How to Seal and Protect Your Deck for Summer

Power wash the deck or scrub with a deck cleaner to remove dirt, mildew, and old finish. Sealant applied over grime will not adhere properly and will peel. Let the wood dry completely — at least 48 hours of dry weather before applying any products.
